2AM members talk about their  opinion about their first Japanese song'For you~君のためにできること~' on Nov-Dec issue of KBoom magazine.

Q.1:  What impression did this album ~君のためにできること~> leave you when you first heard it?

Seulong: Because this is our first (original) Japanese song, we were very nervous and anticipating it. When we heard the song, we felt that the harmony was really beautiful. Within the song, the guitar melody was also very charismatic. In particular, the intro where our harmony was used left a deep impression on us.

Q.2: When ~君のためにできること~> was rearranged, did you     think about singing another member’s part?

All: We were very pleased with our own parts.
Seulong: I think we divided the parts in order to further highlight each member’s vocal speciality
Changmin: I think that the parts each of us are singing right now are the best parts
Jinwoon: If I had to rate it out of 5 levels, I would use “extremely content” as a comment for a 5 out of 5 mark

Q.3: How was the overall atmosphere between everyone for the third single track?

Jo Kwon: Because we included , a song that has a very strong rhythmic beat, I think the fans will like it.
Jinwoon: Because the song is very lively, if we look at it as a whole, the mournful feeling is not lost, therefore the album is very balanced.

Q.4: Was there any interesting stories whilst filming the MV for ~君のためにできること~>?

Changmin: When we were filming the MV, there was a scene where I stood there and shouted “Run! Hurry and run!” At the start I used Korean to shout the phrase and because of the director’s directions; I had to shout it out really loud. And so I lost my voice. But then the director said, “The next scene is in Japanese!” so we had to film again, but because I was shouting inaudibly it was really difficult.
Seulong: I was filming together with a dog, so I forgot about the time! The filming was really interesting.
Changmin: Were you acting as the dog? (Laughs)
Seulong: Of course I was filming with the dog!! (Laughs)
Jinwoon: I went to film outdoors. We were supposed to show a warm and soft atmosphere under the sunlight, but because the sun was covered up that day, the waiting time was really long. It was quite tiring. The moon that embraces the sun! (Popular Korean drama)
Jo Kwon: When we were all filming together on the bridge, I said a joke which made everyone burst out laughing so we had a few NGs. (Laughs)

Q.5: ~君のためにできること~>’s lyrics talk about “being determined to protect the happiness of the one you love”. It has described men’s purity, what do you think of this?

Jinwoon: The man’s purity in this song can also seem very manly if we look at it from a different perspective. In addition, it allows us to see how we’re unable to stick with our negative opinions of others in front of someone we love. If it was me, I would express my feelings directly to the person I like.
Changmin: Even if I secretly liked someone, if there was another person who liked her, then I would be unable to confess. If I would regret losing her for the rest of my life then maybe I would pluck up the courage and confess, but most of the times I would suppress my own feelings.
Jo Kwon: If I think that the other person really isn’t the one for her, then I would confess.

Q.6: Just like the drama , if you were able to look back at one time of your life, what time would that be?

Jinwoon: Personally, I want to look back at the time when I was in my mother’s womb. Although I can’t remember anything… in fact, mommy’s stomach was a little tight. Maybe from that moment onwards I was distressed.
Everyone: (bursts out laughing)

Changmin: How distressed would you be? Deciding whether to come out by the head or bottom first?
Everyone: (bursts out laughing)
Seulong: I want to look back at my high school period. No matter if it was education or just playing, I put a lot of effort into it.
Everyone: (bursts out laughing)
Jo Kwon: Because there were a lot of wonderful memories, I want to look back at my junior high school period
Changmin: I want to see the day of our debut. I cried once on the day of our debut and haven’t cried since. I didn’t cry when we got first place on music shows. But, on our debut day I really cried out loud.
Jo Kwon: Please watch the MV for
Changmin: There are parts (of the day) that the video didn’t record; I want to fully see what the whole day was like.
Seulong: Yes, indeed, I want to see Changmin hyung back at that time.
Changmin: I didn’t cry going up or coming down from the stage. But once my mother called I cried a lot.

Q.7: When will be the next time you will cry?

Changmin: When I pass my daughter to her husband, I think I’ll cry
Jinwoon: Then wouldn’t it be better to just have a son?
Changmin: Then I will never cry again. (Laughs)

Q.8: What is the highlight of ~君のためにできること~>?

Seulong: Harmonies
Changmin: Emotions
Jo Kwon: Harmony, 2AM’s sensitivity. There’s a lot of harmony in this song, therefore 2AM’s beautiful vocals and melody is the highlight. Because this is a mournful and sorrowful ballad, it is suitable for a cold autumn day. Everyone must listen to it.
Jinwoon: But I heard that next week in Japan it isn’t cold any more.
Jo Kwon: Really? Is Japan going against me? (Laughs) This song is suitable for whenever it’s hot too.
Seulong: No matter when it is, it’s good. (Laughs)
Jo Kwon: Yes, this is a famous ballad!

miss A interviewed by Sports Chosun

Girl group miss A has recently come back with their latest effort, “I Don’t Need a Man“. To spread the word about their new release, and to answer a few long-held questions, the girls of miss A – Suzy, Fei, Jia and Min - sat down with Sports Chosun for a quick interview.

It’s hard to live as a girl group. Not only must they keep up with their schedules, but they must also learn to ignore hateful comments and keep track of their own body. This is especially true for Min, who had been on the receiving end of the ‘screen captures’.

“I was a little chubby at the time,” Min acknowledged. “But screen captures were really something else. I thought, ‘when did I ever make faces like that?’ and felt sad and annoyed, since that was really my worst face.”

It’s also hard to maintain the image they’ve built up for themselves. For Suzy, she had gained the title of ‘nation’s first love’ after her iconic role in the hit film, ‘Introduction to Architecture‘. “It was an amazing and thankful title,” she said. “But I am me. I’m a singer, and stand on the stage. Sometimes, when I put on a lot of makeup for the stage, many people tell me ‘the first love isn’t supposed to be like that, put on lighter makeup’. In truth, I’m a bit boyish and talk too much. It’s only my image in a film, but I feel pressured since that image is reflected on my true life.”

The girls have different ways to relieve their stress. Jia said, “I call my mother or my friends. But when I talk in Chinese with Fei, the people around us think we’re cursing.”

Min and Suzy have a simpler method: they walk. “I had a bit of time during Chuseok, so for the first time, I went by myself to the Han River and walked for 3-4 hours. It really got rid of my stress,” Suzy revealed.

Although miss A has achieved their dreams of being an artist, and is labeled as one of the more successful idol groups to date, they still remain teenagers in the late ‘teens and early twenties. One of the things that idols miss out during their celebrity lives are dating.

On the idea of dating, all of the members responded unanimously with “we want to date”. However, they declined on making their boyfriends public. “I don’t want everyone to know about our love,” Suzy responded. “It may damage the other person, and many others as well. I think keeping it private will be the best way for both ourselves and others.”

“I Don’t Need a Man” revolves around young women and their power in modern society. On the real issue of feminism, Suzy responded, “It’s definitely a problem we can all think about. When my mother ran a snack shop in the past, she liked what she did and was proud of it. I think it would be nice if more people can have that point of view. There’s no need to be upset or feel less about yourself just because you make less money, or if people don’t respect you.”

miss A’s biggest hit, so far, would arguably be their debut sensation, “Bad Girl Good Girl“. Jia confessed, “We did feel pressure about how to jump over “Bad Girl Good Girl” since it was so successful.” Suzy added, “They weren’t bad, but our other albums had a hard time living up to the success of our debut album. But I think we maintained our style while evolving. I hope that this time, we will be able to outshine “Bad Girl Good Girl”.

[NEWS] TV Daily interviews rising rookie group JJ Project

After making a strong debut on Dream High 2 and with their debut album, ‘BOUNCE‘, JJ Project is jam-packed with skills acquired through JYPE’s long practice hours and rigorous training.

JB (Lim Jae Beom, 19), and Jr. (Park Jin Young, 19) were the winners of the 5th JYPE Audition back in 2009. But with their skills and idol-like images, the duo were already being recognized and garnered a tight fan-base even before their debut.

Jr., the younger one of the group commented,”In 2009, during summer break, we auditioned for the 5th JYPE Audition. Me and JB hyung auditioned together and placed 1st. And from then, hyung and I officially started getting trained and working as singers.”

Even as a rookie, Jr. showed phenomenal acting skills in Dream High 2, playing a lovable character with a southern Korean accent. In addition, his dancing skills caught the public’s eye during Dream High 2. Even After School‘s dancing machine leader, Kahi, admitted that she fell in love with Jr.’s dancing.

JB, the older of the group said, “[Since the audition,] we took language and dancing lessons for 2 years. We’re learning Japanese and Chinese, but I don’t think we are up to a high level yet. I think we need to work on it a bit more since the words are so foreign to us.”

From the start, JB and Jr. bears the burden of having the same names as the legendary singer, Lim Jae Beom, and a singer-producer, Park Jin Young. And because of that, the public are expecting great things to happen in the near future.

“There is no meaning behind it. Our real names are Park Jin Young and Lim Jae Beom. But since we are rookies, we won’t have our own original colors. So we just combined our first initials, J and J,” JB said.

Jr. added, “You can think of us as like a continuously evolving project team rather than a unit team. Being given the same names as legends can be considered as a fate or homework. We have to work harder if we want to live up to the name. It’s intimidating, but I want to grow and become like J.Y. Park and Lim Jae Beom.”

JB revealed that many successful artistis and groups of JYPE were the biggest supporters and promoters for the JJ Project. Not only did CEO JYP give advice, but artists such as Se7en*, 2PM, 2AM, MissA, and Wonder Girls passed on their share of experience and knowledge to the rookie duo.

He commented, “The seniors taught us a lot. As singers, and even as life mentors, they gave us a lot of advices. I think 2PM’s Junho hyung and Taekyeon hyung worries the most. So I think we have to work harder”
